The slimmer Gen 2 design has a white LED display, circular touch control and a rechargeable USB-C battery. It remains part of the Matter and Thread-based X family.

Our installation product is a service for customer-supplied hardware. A thermostat or starter kit is not included.

Smart home control
Matter and Thread connect the X range to supported Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa setups. Check the hub and border router your setup needs.

Optional automation
AI Assist includes arrival-based Preheat Before Arrival with Geofencing. This is separate from V3+ scheduled Early Start.
Understand your heating use
Use the app’s heating reports to review your usage. Actual savings depend on the home, controls and settings.
Underfloor heating? Check Early Start before switching.
V3+ Early Start can pre-warm a room to reach its temperature at the scheduled time. Tado X Gen 2 does not offer that same scheduled Early Start setting. AI Assist’s Preheat Before Arrival is arrival-based, so allow for your floor’s warm-up time when planning X schedules.
Wired or wireless: choose the correct Gen 2 device and receiver for the existing wiring and hot water controls. Send photos before buying if you are unsure.
