Compatibility
The Hive Thermostat Mini is compatible with most UK heating systems, including:
- Combi boilers – Gas or LPG
- System boilers – With separate hot water tanks
- Conventional boilers – With hot water cylinders and cold water tanks
- Zoned heating systems – Multiple thermostats can be used for multi-zone setups (one Hive system per zone)
- Oil and biomass boilers – May be compatible, depending on existing wiring
- Wet underfloor heating systems – If controlled via standard wiring
Not compatible with:
- Storage heaters or electric-only heating systems without a standard thermostat control
- Heat pump systems without relay-based interfaces (check with your installer)
- Boilers without a separate controller interface or existing thermostat wiring
For full compatibility, a Hive Hub (included) must be connected to your broadband router. A qualified installer can confirm compatibility on-site if you're unsure.
