Yes — the Hive Mini works with most gas and LPG central heating systems. It’s compatible with:
- Combi boilers
- System and heat-only boilers
- Conventional boilers with a hot water tank
- S and Y plan systems
Our installer will confirm compatibility during your appointment.
Does the Hive Mini control hot water?
Yes. If your system supports hot water control, the Hive Mini can manage both heating and hot water schedules.
Is the Hive Mini wireless?
The Hive Mini communicates wirelessly with the Hive Hub and receiver. The thermostat itself requires power, which can be supplied:
- With the included batteries (standard installation)
- Using a wall-mounted power source (optional)
I don’t have wiring where I want the thermostat. What are my options?
The Hive Mini is designed to be fully wireless. You can place it on a shelf or mount it on a wall without additional wiring.
Can you install a second-hand Hive Mini?
Yes, we can install a second-hand Hive Mini thermostat. However, please note that we cannot provide warranty support for used devices not purchased from us.
Does the Hive Mini work with Alexa or Google Assistant?
Yes. Hive Mini integrates with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit for voice control.
How do I schedule heating with the Hive Mini?
You can use the Hive app or website to create schedules. Your installer will guide you through the process during setup.
I need multiple thermostats for zoned heating. What should I do?
For multi-zone installations, please contact us in advance to discuss your requirements and get a tailored quote.
